Accommodation is an important part of the exchange experience in Salzburg. Depending on the program and personal preferences, students can stay with carefully selected host families or in modern student residences throughout their stay.
Both accommodation options provide a safe, supportive and comfortable environment while allowing participants to experience everyday life in Austria. Whether living with a local family or together with other international students, the accommodation experience encourages independence, cultural exchange and new friendships.

Host Families
Students staying with host families experience everyday life in Austria in a personal and welcoming environment. Carefully selected host families provide accommodation, daily support and the opportunity to become part of local family life during the exchange program.
Living with a host family allows students to improve their language skills, experience Austrian traditions and gain a deeper understanding of the local culture. Host family accommodation is especially suitable for younger participants and students who want a more personal and culturally immersive experience throughout their stay.
Host family placements are available for the full duration of the program and are located within Salzburg or the surrounding regions with access to schools and public transportation.
Student Residences
Student residences offer a modern and independent accommodation option for participants who prefer a more flexible and international living environment. Students stay together with other participants and international students in shared residences with common areas and modern facilities.
The residences encourage independence, social interaction and international exchange while providing a comfortable and structured living environment throughout the program. Students have the opportunity to connect with others outside of school and activities while experiencing everyday student life in Salzburg.
Student residences are available for participants aged 16 and above and are typically located near schools, public transportation and important city facilities.
